Heritage Captures Lead Early To Defeat Bearden Bulldogs Varsity

Bearden Bulldogs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-6 loss to Heritage on Wednesday. Heritage scored on a home run by Kameron Johnson in the first inning, a single by Hayden Gilliland in the first inning, a single by Jacob Goble in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Dj Cooper in the first inning, a double by Casey Haire in the second inning, a single by Max Bowers in the second inning, and a single by Cory Kaan in the second inning.
Bearden Bulldogs Varsity collected seven hits and Heritage had 11 in the high-scoring affair.
Bearden Bulldogs Varsity tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Spencer Glover had an RBI grand slam in the inning to lead the run scoring.
Heritage scored four runs in the second inning. Heritage’s big inning was driven by singles by Bowers and Kaan, by Goble, and a double by Haire.
Cade Braden was on the mound for Heritage. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out five.
Thomas Wilson was on the mound for Bearden Bulldogs Varsity. He went one inning, allowing four runs on five hits and walking zero. Cooper Denton and Joseph Allen entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Bearden Bulldogs Varsity tallied three home runs on the day. Nate Adkins went yard in the first and sixth innings. Glover put one out in the seventh inning.
Adkins led Bearden Bulldogs Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
Heritage collected 11 hits. Johnson, Haire, and Bowers each racked up multiple hits for Heritage. Heritage was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Goble made the most plays with five.
